It's here! Well, it's finally here. The new-look Who-Remembers-Me.com quarterly newsletter has arrived. We're sorry it's been a long time coming, but at WRM Towers we've been somewhat overwhelmed by the sheer number of new members signing up from around the world (more on that later). Because we've been growing at an unprecedented rate the pressure has really been on to cope with demand. We've now taken on new members of staff and the team is ready for future challenges. New look for website Our newly expanded workforce has been beavering away to create a brand new WRM website. The smart new site, launched this week, boasts all your favourite features in an extra user-friendly format with a few added extras too. We think it looks great what do you think? We love to hear from members so please let us know. Check out the new site now at who-remembers-me.com Snap! Matching Attendance Reports With the new WRM site comes a fantastic new feature to make it even easier for old friends to find each other. Each month members will receive a Matching Attendance Report alerting them to new members who attended the same college, club, place of worship etc as they did. We don't believe in sending out unwanted email, so if you decide you don't want to receive similar reports in future, just click the 'unsubscribe' button when you receive your report. Bigger and better... with your help It's fantastic to hear that so many of you are now finding old friends with Who-Remembers-Me.com. Thanks for your patience during these early days. Inevitably it takes time for word to spread and the database of members to grow large enough to see real results. We've still got a lot of growing to do, but - with over half-a-million people now registered worldwide - we are certainly getting there. And, with your help, it won't be long before we reach a million and beyond. Registration takes off worldwide WRM now has people registered from an amazing 220 different countries (I know! We couldn't name that many either). The top-ten countries with the most people currently registering is: 1. USA 2. UK 3. Australia 4. Canada 5. New Zealand 6. South Africa 7. The Philippines 8. Ireland 9. India 10. Malaysia Building the WRM community If every member uses the 'tell a friend' link at the new site, the WRM community will grow and grow meaning more chances to find old friends. Increasing the number of 'attendance' categories you are listed under will also help members to find each other. For example, instead of listing only your schools or workplaces, why not add the streets you've lived on and the clubs you've been a member of? To increase your attendance categories please visit who-remembers-me.com Tell us your story A South African doctor working in London contacted us recently to say he was amazed to discover old schoolmates from Zimbabwe registered on WRM that's the kind of news we love to hear! If you've contacted a lost love, favourite childhood neighbour or an old forces pal via Who-Remembers-Me.com, please let us know. Whatever your story we would love to hear about it. There is a magnum of Champagne for every story we use. Please use the 'Tell Us Your Story' link on the home page or visit who-remembers-me.com Profiles hints and tips Writing about yourself can be hard to do. We'd like to encourage all our members to include a personal profile on the site after all, news from old friends is what WRM is all about so we've made it easier for you. The new site includes a 'Profile' button which, when clicked, allows you to write a new profile, change an existing one or select a standard greeting. Check out the 'Hints and Tips' section where you can also read through example profiles for inspiration. Please visit who-remembers-me.com Greetings it's automatic Because a blank page is a disappointing substitute for an interesting profile, our new site will automatically generate a friendly greeting where members have not included a profile. To add or update an existing profile, please visit who-remembers-me.com That's all for now. See you next time. Best wishes, The WRM Team |
