‘Star Story’
This is exactly what Gerrie and Geordie Fawcett did. They got in touch to let us know they had successfully reconnected with ex-army pals, Colin and Barbara Proffitt.

Originally stationed with the British army in Germany in the early seventies, the two couples became the best of friends. But after five years Gerrie and Geordie returned to the UK and the famous foursome lost touch.

Thirty years later and Gerrie, now a grandmother of four, received an email asking if she knew a Colin Profitt.

She had registered her details with WRM and within minutes of listing in her attendances the Mulheim barracks in Germany, we had found an immediate match in Colin who was already a member!

Before long Gerrie and Geordie and Colin and Barbara were catching up on almost 30 years of history!

What’s more, an article printed in Gerrie’s hometown paper, The Belfast Telegraph, attracted another ex-army pal, who on recognising Geordie’s picture in the paper, got in touch!

It just goes to show, the past really is a click away.

Leave a MESSAGE after the beep...
We are proud to announce the launch of our brand new ‘message centre’.

If you’ve not seen it, the message centre operates in much the same way as an email inbox and can be found on the main menu after logging in, under the heading ‘MY MESSAGES’.

The main benefits of this new feature are increased security and privacy.

It enables you to communicate with people you find on the site THROUGH the site without divulging either party's personal information such as email addresses.

The only information received either way is the message!

WRM will email you each time someone sends you a message and you’ll be able to retrieve your messages via the message centre, where you can reply to them if you wish.

You’ll also be able to manage your messages as you would any other email account. To visit the message centre, click here.

Attendances, Attendances, ATTENDANCES!
And finally, don’t forget those attendances! It’s all about attendances so add as many as you can. Click here to add some attendances now.

For any newcomers to the club, ‘attendances’ are the names of any ‘search-engine’ institutions such as colleges, schools and clubs you have attended, or the streets you have lived on and places you have worked.

There are 18 different attendance categories to choose from so there really is no excuse! If you do not add any attendances, we can’t match you with anyone.

On the other hand, the more attendances you add, the easier it is for you to be found by old friends.

Remember, it is free to add as many attendances as you like. And whenever a new member adds an attendance that matches one of yours, we will instantly email you with a link to their profile. Just ask Gerrie!

In the meantime, don’t forget to tell all your friends, (click here to use our “tell a friend” link) and once again, a huge thank you for your continued support.
