WRM Newsletter - Easter 2007
January NEWSLETTER 2008
Welcome to our January newsletter, our first newsletter of 2008, and a very Happy New Year to all of
our members all over the world!
2007 saw some important changes to the WRM website - we became ‘free to search’ and we introduced
an exciting Ipoint reward scheme – but there’s more to come.
New for 2008 – WRM’s ‘Surname Search’ arrives
It’s taken a little longer than anticipated but by the end of January we’ll have in place a
brand new search facility that will enable you to search by name.
Simply click on the ‘name search’ on the home page and type in the surname of the person you’re
looking for and we’ll run a search through all of the surnames listed on our database to see whether
there’s a match.
All matches will be displayed according to country. You’ll then have the opportunity to click
through to the person’s profile and send them a message.
And remember, the person you are looking for may have emigrated so don’t forget to check the search
results for other countries.
New Attendances, NEW LOOK!!
Also new for 2008 is our new-look ‘attendances’ page.
Almost like an attendance CV, the new page will list all the attendance categories on one form so
that you can see at a glance any areas you may have missed.
And for every new attendance you add, we’ll reward you with 10 Ipoints.
Don’t forget, attendances are what keep the Who-Remembers-Me.com community together. They enable us to search
the world over for people you may remember from your past - without them we can’t match you with anyone.
New to WRM?
For those of you who are new to WRM, ‘attendances’ are the names of any ‘search-engine’ institutions such
as colleges, schools and clubs you may have attended, or streets you may have lived on.
There are now 18 different attendance categories to choose from so there really is no excuse! The more
attendances you add, the easier it is for you to be found by old friends. Click here to Add Attendances
It’s free to add as many attendances as you like and it’s now free to search the attendance categories. Whenever a
new member adds an attendance that matches one of yours, we will instantly email you with a link to their profile.
We also send you a monthly ‘matching attendance report’ with all your matches at a glance.
Over to you: YOUR STORIES
Last newsletter you may remember we paid tribute to our Australian members, well the last few months
have seen an influx of stories from the UK…
Remember Anne Smith from Grantham in Lincolnshire?
She wrote to say she had traced her former nursing pal Pam Spicer through the site. She and Pam trained
at the same hospital together in Grantham, but lost touch when their lives took them in separate
directions. Pam is now living in Australia, but she and Anne are in regular contact.
Then there’s Clifford White from Kent
who told us about his time in the ‘Buffs’ and then the ‘Redcaps’
and how he reconnected with a number of former colleagues from the Royal Military Police.
And let’s not forget our ex Army couples stationed in Germany!
They first found each back in 2006,
but in August last year they finally met up for the first time in more than 30 years.
See their story in full on January’s story page.
And don’t forget to write yourself. If you’ve got a story to tell, please let us know. We’ll do our
best to mention it on our ‘stories’ page and every month the sender of the best story, our
‘star story’, will win a luxury food hamper or magnum of Champagne.
For the very latest gossip from all around the world log onto the ‘Success Stories’ page.
Recommenations & SUGGESTIONS
That’s all for now; we’ll be back in March with more website news.
In the meantime, if you have any recommendations or suggestions that might improve our site,
please let us know.
If we use any of them we’ll send you a hamper by way of saying thank you.
