Former Army Cadets back in touch after more than 35 years!
Richard Waihi has been in touch to tell us how he recently reconnected with a fellow Army Cadet.
Apparently Richard first met Rick when they were in the Royal New Zealand Army Cadets in Waiouru, back in 1968. They were trialling out for the Army Cadets First Fifteen Rugby Team.
From there they were posted to 1 Infantry Workshops based at Papakura, New Zealand and graduated from the same corps.
The last time they saw each other was in 1971 over 35 years ago, so needless to say, Richard and Rick have had a lot to catch up on!
They may even get together sometime in the future as Rick is in Australia and Richard is in New Zealand, so not too far to travel.
