Auf Wiedersehen Pet – Army couples reunited after almost 30 years apart
But let’s not forget one of our first success stories…
Gerrie and Geordie Fawcett successfully reconnected with ex-army pals, Colin and Barbara Proffitt after almost thirty years apart.
Originally stationed with the British army in Germany in the early seventies, the two couples became the best of friends. But after five years Gerrie and Geordie returned to the UK and the famous foursome lost touch.
When Gerrie registered her details with Who-Remembers-Me.com she soon received an email asking if she knew a Colin Profitt.
Already a member, he too had listed in his attendances the Mulheim barracks in Germany, and immediately they had found a match.
Before long Gerrie and Geordie and Colin and Barbara were catching up on almost thirty years of history!
What’s more, an article printed in Gerrie’s hometown paper, The Belfast Telegraph, attracted another ex-army pal, who on recognising Geordie’s picture in the paper, got in touch!
