School teacher fondly remembered from 40 years ago
Ian Lloyd, originally from the UK, has a lovely story to tell.
He used to go to St. Joseph’s School in Wrexham, North Wales, and remembers a great school teacher, a man by the name of Mr Lux, from 40 years ago.
Apparently Mr Lux renamed him Floyd Patterson (ex boxing champ who was flattened by Sonny Liston) after he was demolished (Ian’s words) in a nasty schoolyard fight.
Ian says Mr Lux was a caring guy who managed to kindle some level of interest in him for his subjects (physics).
Ian listed St. Joseph’s School in his attendances and found out that sadly Mr. Lux had died some years ago. However Ian has been able to link up with Mr Lux’s son, also a pupil at St. Joseph’s, (some time after Ian) and now they are in regular contact.
Coincidentally both have since moved to Australia and so they fully intend to meet up for drinks the next time they’re in the same city!
