Willie Naude from South Africa has recently reconnected with ex-service buddy Chris Hatting.

He and Chris were in the Air Force together from 1981 to 1988 and were based at AFB Hoedspruit.

Apparently Willie and Chris started the Mirage F1 Engine workshop together; Chris was a Flight Sergeant and Willie a Sergeant and together they worked on the No 1 SQN Engine Operations – Chris, Willie says, was his mentor.

Willie became a Technical Officer in 1988 and that was the last time he saw Chris.

Needless to say, he was very pleased indeed when he found him again, some twenty years later, through WRM!
