Newlands East Secondary School pupils back in touch!
Merina Allison, a Training Facilitator from Durban in South Africa, wrote to say she had found the sister of an old school friend through the site and had connected her friend’s sister, Shameem, with a third mutual friend, Yasmin. All three ladies used to go to Newlands East Secondary School in Durban, but in 9th grade, some 22 years ago, Shameem moved to Cape Town. Merina and Yasmin stayed in Durban, and although they don’t see each other on a regular basis, they bumped into each other at a recent church conference. When Merina told Yasmin Shameem was looking for her, Yasmin was thrilled as she too had wanted to get in touch with Shameem – she had even written her a letter but didn’t know where to send it. Apparently Shameem is now planning a visit to Durban so that her and Yasmin’s children can meet!
