Len Payne from Canada recently connected with an ex-Army (Royal Signals) buddy from 55 years ago. He and Stan Underwood were both fellow trades people (Ciphers) and barrack room buddies for about six months in 1952. They enjoyed some good times together and according to Len, lifted many a Dortmunder Gold Top! Len was then posted to 20 Armoured Brigade in Munster while Stan remained at Divisional HQ in Bunde and they consequently lost touch. You can imagine his surprise then, when 55 years on, Len received an email from Stan through WRM! He and Stan are now in regular communication via email and are busy swapping photos and many ‘tall stories’ of the old days!
