Ex-Royal Navy pals back in touch and a long way from where they last saw each other!
Brian Davies has recently made contact with old friend David ‘Dai’ Hodges for the first time in 35 years. He and Dai are the same age and were both born in the small Welsh town of Llanbadoc. Brian says they grew up in adjacent streets and were firm friends all the way to
High School. Some time after leaving school Brian joined the Royal Navy and was drafted to HMS Collingwood, only to find Dai Hodges had also joined the Navy and was stationed there too! Apparently they shared the last RN tot together in 1970!
Now, thanks to WRM, the two are back in contact, albeit on the other side of the world! Dai lives in Australia and Brian lives in New Zealand, so they have both ended up in the southern hemisphere.
Brian says he hopes they can meet up soon as he plans to be in Sydney in February. Please keep us posted Brian!
