Thames Central School friends back in touch!
Carol from the Bay of Plenty in New Zealand was thrilled when she recently got a response from a special primary school friend from the 1950s.
The school, Thames Central School (now closed) was right at the end of the main street of Thames, (Pollen St,) in the North Island of New Zealand.
Carol and her friend, who lives in New Zealand’s capital Wellington, are now in regular contact and hope to meet up soon.
Carol says that although it would now be over 51 years since they last saw each other, she recognised her friend’s voice immediately on the telephone.
“It’s wonderful catching up on old times, finding out where other old friends are.”
